Parks in Lawrence County
Coopers Ferry Park was established in 1996 in Monticello. The park has much
to offer to the community including natural landscaped walkways, a fishpond
and a running stream which leads to a working water mill. Recently the park
added an elevated walkway which views the nature overlook. A pavilion is
located on site for either a nice afternoon picnic or to just relax and
take in the scenic view which looks out to the Pearl River.
Atwood Water Park is another great spot for picnicing. The park is equipped
with picnic tables, tennis courts, and a baseball field. A boat ramp is
also available along with camping facilities.
Silver Creek has a new city park which includes a walking trail and pavilion. |
