Lawrence County Vocational/Technical Center

In 2001-2002, the Division of Community Services at Copiah-Lincoln Community College served over 25,000 individuals from the college service area and beyond through various programs and services.

The Adult Education Department
  • Served approximately 1,050 students in classes hosted at various locations throughout the college district (a college record).
  • Administered the General Educational Development (GED) test at the college to more than 600 individuals.
  • Received Workforce Investment Act Youth Services Grant, funded through Southcentral Mississippi Works and the local Workforce Investment Board, which allowed over 30 disadvantaged students to attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College in basic skills and/or Vocational/Technical training.
  • Established a new Skills for Success Lab on the Natchez Campus to assist Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Vocational-Technical students in upgrading their reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Maintained the Mississippi Virtual GED On-Line website for the state of Mississippi allowing learners from across the state access information about the ABE/GED program and the GED test.
