Festivals, flea markets, civic organizations and church events play an important role in the culture of Lawrence County. This is a spiritual community with a church located on almost every street corner.

The Lawrence County Civic Center in Monticello, offers many activities and events that continue to make this area enjoyable. The Center is a playhouse as well has a museum for the rich history that surrounds the county. Renovations went underway a few years ago to both floors that have made the Civic Center one of the nicest facilities here in Lawrence County.

There are many clubs and organizations here in Lawrence County. Some include the Lions Club, the New Hebron Activities Club and the WIld Turkey Federation. Whatever your interest, Lawrence County is the place to find it.
